Noted author and
journalist Pradeep Saurabh bagged the prestigious International Indu
Sharma Katha Samman-2012 for his novel Teesri Tali (published by Vani
Prakashan, New Delhi). This is a unique novel as it deals in depth with
the life of eunuchs. The award will be handed over to Mr. Pradeep
Saurabh in a glittering function to be held on 28 June 2012 at the House
of Commons in London.The award consists of an air passage
Delhi-London-Delhi, Airport Tax, Visa fee for UK, a shield, a shawl and
the award winner would be taken to important historical sites in and
around London.
International Indu Sharma Katha Samman was instituted in the memory of
promising poetess and short story writer Indu Sharma who lost her battle
of life to cancer in 1995. The past recipients of this coveted award
have been Chitra Mudgal, Sanjiv, Dr. Gyan Chaturvedi, S.R. Harnot,
Vibhuti Narain Rai, Pramod Kumar Tiwari, Dr. Asghar Wajahat, Mahua Maji,
Nasera Sharma, Bhagwan Das Morwal, Hrishikesh Sulabh and Vikas Kumar
Jha.
